Found another manual Outback XT for sale on a local dealer lot. Same year, same mileage mine had when I bought it. They made less than a thousand of these with the facelift and the stick so I was shocked to see it and the dealer was shocked to see mine. Some scratches on the driver door, but otherwise she looked good
Someone convince me I don't need two of these.

You’d be better off with a Justy 4x4.

You need two. Be like the Legacy equivalent of my neighbor who has started collecting the remaining mint condition turbo pre-facelift turbo SJ Foresters.

You might need two, but how much would one of these be?

Afraid not. Didn't think of it until we'd split

What are they asking for it?

$10,995

This one was $11k. If I were to go for it I'd want to talk him down $1,500-2,000

When I had my bmw wagon at the dealer for an airbag recall, I had a co-worker bring me down to pick it up. He knows my car, it’s a blue 3-series wagon with a roof box (it was winter). We’re walking out to the lot, and there are gigantic snowbanks everywhere because of the record winter we were having... anyway I can see my car, clearly, over in a distant lot. I’m walking that way and my co-worker is walking a little to the right saying “I saw your car it’s over behind that snowbank.” And he insists on walking that way. I didn’t want to argue; more fun to have a little laugh when we got around to the other side. But sure enough, there was the OTHER goddamn blue wagon with a rooftop box, the only other wagon on the entire gigantic lot, for that matter. AND it was a manual, on closer inspection. What are the odds?

Want. But you have dibs... and I can’t currently afford another car.

Honestly neither can I

I would branch out a bit at that price, try finding a Forester XT manual or even go for the Saabaru

I’m ok with the price. The Outback was $3,000 more than the others when new, is better equipped, has 20 more horsepower, and has more luggage space (which is a big deal for me). I also think it looks far better than the others. Plus to get a Saabaru you’d have to go three years older.
